Full-Time or Part-Time Legal Secretary (Newbury)

We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to provide support to our Newbury team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in family law.

Duties and responsibilities will include the following:

Maintaining an electronic case management system for all files dealt with by our Newbury team. K J Smith Solicitors are now a paper-lite firm meaning we only keep small paper files.
Excellent organisational skills - the ability to take responsibility for tasks and prioritise work in a calm and efficient manner.
Supporting the Newbury team and our other offices with audio typing of standard and bespoke correspondence and documents (experience of BigHand platform advantageous but not essential).
Supporting our dedicated reception team with incoming calls, including dealing with new and existing clients and booking appointments.
Carrying out administrative tasks, including photocopying, preparing court bundles and dealing with stationery orders.

We welcome direct applicants, but also work with a small number of select recruitment agencies. We will not be liable for the recruitment agent's commission in the event that we are approached directly by a candidate whose CV was also sent to us speculatively by an agent we have not contracted with.

Our Office Locations

All our offices are easily accessible by road, rail or bus and we are open Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:30pm.
